Our Gardens
We own two of the finest tea gardens
in Assam, the largest tea-growing region in the world.
Our flagship tea plantation is called Satrupa Tea Estate, and it is
located in Upper Assam. Our second plantation is called Rani Tea Estate,
and it is located in Lower Assam, between the international airport
and the main city of Assam, Guwahati. Tea Harvesting Satrupa is a
newer tea garden that MKB and Reeta planted starting in early 1980s.
Rani tea estate was originally planted in 1880s. Even through many
of the original plants have been replaced over time, most of its tea
plants are more mature than those in Satrupa. As Satrupa is located
in a higher elevation, its cup character is distinctively different
than that of Rani.
Tea Manufacturing Both Satrupa and Rani tea estates produce 100% orthodox
teas throughout the production seasons that start in March with the
First Flush, and ends in November with the Autumn Flush. Both the
plantations have their own tea factories.
